What the EID identifies
The EID (eUICC Identifier) is the permanent 32-digit serial of an embedded UICC. Under the
E.118-based scheme it begins with the telecom MII 89, followed by the eUICC manufacturer's
country code and issuer identifier (assigned by GSMA), manufacturing information, a per-chip serial and a
Luhn check digit.
Why this is an eSIM-era flag
"EID decoder", "EID vs ICCID" and "what is an EID" are rising eSIM searches with mostly shallow vendor-blog results. As fleets move to eUICC and IoT RSP (SGP.32) rolls out through 2026, correctly identifying and decoding an EID becomes routine — this is the interactive decoder that does it properly.

EID vs ICCID — what's the difference?
Both begin with 89, which is why they get confused. The EID is 32 digits and identifies the eUICC chip itself; the ICCID is up to 20 digits and identifies a profile installed on that chip. One eUICC (one EID) can hold many profiles (many ICCIDs) over its life.
How is the EID check digit computed?
Per GSMA SGP.29 the 32-digit EID ends with a Luhn check digit computed over the first 31 digits. This tool validates it and shows the expected digit when it fails.
Where do I find my device's EID?
On most phones it's under Settings → About → SIM/eSIM status, or dial *#06# on eSIM-capable devices. On a chip it can be read via the LPA or ES10 interface.
